Global and CTV not enough?

Well as the Houses of Commons opens for yet another session, I see that members of the governing Liberal party have taken it upon themselves to push for a resolution to the ongoing labour destruction at the state broadcaster, the CBC.

On Mike Duffy Live, that we now have the Liberal House Leader, Toney Valeri, also suggesting that it would be great to have the CBC back on the air. The Hon. Valeri is very much supportive of the efforts of Joe Fontana to ensure that the state broadcaster is back on the air. This is in addition to Sam Bulte’s support of the CBC (see side bar on http://cbcontheline.ca/). Of course all this pales in comparison to Jack Layton’s shameless courting of locked out CBC workers. Jack has been a CBC lockout tour of sorts – he has managed to walk lines from coast to coast with a stop over at the centre of the universe and Winnipeg (I'm sure I am missing some of the tour spots).

Of course, this all begs the question, why are the Liberals and the NDP so concerned about the CBC? It seems Canadians are more worried about the price of gas….

  • I would like for Jack Layton to befroend strikers in some strike that actually affects the average Canadian in a negative way! See how quick he jumps then...
